Meaningful lives full of love, joy and happiness

Through the Body

30-06-14

I have been working with the body, mostly about its fitness and performance, most of my life. In fact I still do so, adding new nuances, as I currently teach my Yoga, Pilates and  as I recommend physical practices to my clients.

What are the new nuances that are added in my understanding of the body and applied to the physical practices?

There have been a number of important contributions on the latest years, emerging from different perspectives ranging from religion, neuroscience, education & learning, somatics and culture.… One core concept that has kept with me (offered by Integral Coaching Canada) is that of the body as a container.

The body indeed is, a container, of our daily life experience. In our body is contained our thoughts, dreams, motivations, emotions (positive ones and negative ones), just as our moral and spiritual believes. In our body is contained the way we show up to the world, the way we relate to it, the way we relate to others, the way we communicate, the way we express love, the way we care for others. In our body is contained our daily habits and routines, our way to work, our way to seek and our way to let go…

Our body contains how de we relate with all the above, consciously and unconsciously.

That’s why in our sessions we will work with the body, because it is a source of wisdom as not something that we have (“a body”) but something we are as us (whole human beings). With the body we learn about our current ways, and with the body we help path new ways. New ways more alive and joyful with all we contain, and more prepared, open and ready to receive and be filled with more joyful life.

I encourage you to respectfully and mindfully attend yourself as body.
